The Monroe County Council of School Superintendents (MCCOSS) Michael C. O’Laughlin Outstanding Senior Recognition Dinner was held on May 14. This dinner is the only program that recognizes excellence in all Monroe County and Rochester city high schools at one event. Students are selected for this honor based on their scholarship, leadership, service, and character. The honorees received a gift from Monroe One BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Cathy Hauber, Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES District Superintendent Dr. Tom Putnam, and their respective school superintendents.

Will Vitale is Brighton High School’s Outstanding Senior and fellow BHS student Peyton Johnson is Monroe One BOCES’ Outstanding Senior.

Vitale is an accomplished scholar-athlete for both the indoor and outdoor track and field teams. He’s also involved with Natural Helpers and Chemistry Club. Vitale will take a gap year in the fall and go to Sweden through the Rotary International Exchange Program. He plans to continue running while abroad.

Johnson is completing the Auto Services program through EMCC. He currently works at Cortese Auto Group and doing an internship through Porsche Rochester. After graduation, he will begin a full-time auto technician position with Porsche Rochester. Johnson is an avid skier and previously played lacrosse and worked on the yearbook at BHS.
