Fall 2024 Help Room Schedule

Spring 2025 Math Help Room Schedule

Beginning in 2015-2016 school year, Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 will be calculating the course average using only the 4 quarter grades. These courses will not be giving a midterm exam in January. As a department, we feel there are more valuable methods to assess our students’ progress throughout the year. We will be incorporating cumulative activities throughout the year.

MATH DEPARTMENT GRADING POLICY FOR REGENTS-LEVEL COURSES

  • No Regents-level course will give a midterm
    • Ongoing assessment will be provided throughout the year

  • All Regents-level courses will compute the student’s final grade by averaging the four quarter grades – the Regents exam will have no effect on a course grade, but will be recorded on the student’s permanent transcript

  • Regents Exams
    • All students must take the Regents exam that is offered for their course
    • Passing the Algebra 1 exam is required for graduation
    • Passing the Geometry and Algebra 2 exams are required for the Advanced Regents Diploma

  • Completion of Regents Exam is Required
    • If a student does not show up for the Regents exam, a notation of ABSENT UNEXCUSED will be recorded for the exam on the student’s permanent transcript
    • Attendance at summer school is prohibited if the final exam is not taken because the course is considered incomplete (BHS Parent/Student Handbook)
