Scholarships

Students can also choose to apply for scholarships to help offset post-secondary educational costs.  The scholarship search process isn't easy and can be time-consuming, but it can be worth the effort!!  Below is some information to help, as well as links to local scholarships and scholarship search websites.

  1. Check for scholarships at your place of employment, unions, banks/credit unions, professional/club/membership affiliations, places of worship, Greek life affiliations, dentist office etc.  You never know what's available until you ask!
  2. The biggest scholarships will come directly from the colleges or universities themselves.
    1. Some colleges consider students for school-based scholarships automatically through the college application; other colleges have additional scholarship applications.  Always check the financial aid website for each prospective college to determine their scholarship process and deadlines.
    2. Keep in mind that some colleges set earlier application deadlines for students who want to be considered for school-based scholarships
