Diwali Celebration Lights Up BHS with Colorful Art and Culture
Students decorated the sidewalks outside Brighton High School in the spirit of traditional Indian rangoli art to celebrate Diwali, the festival of lights, in October. Students learned about traditions of Diwali during homeroom and were invited to design and decorate their own mandalas. BHS’ community artwork is currently on display in the main hallway. South Asian Student Society Advisor Alpa Khandhar and club leaders Sahej Patwa, Sneha Jagadeesh, Ojas Rajput, Aakash Kelkar, Chandhana Ravi, Tejus Reddy, and Omer Okutan hosted a well-attended party after school that welcomed over 100 students with food and music.
