BHS Students Attend Teen Institute Conference
Thirteen Brighton High School students attended the 39th annual Heart of New York Teen Institute Conference in November. The conference focuses on leadership development, mental health, prevention, building-up yourself and others, and culminates in making an action plan to make Brighton a better place. Students Claire Fien, Maria Shalaeva, Maria Shinina, Olivia Seckel, Talia Ferreira and Norah Collins served on the Youth Staff. They were selected to lead the state-wide conference after an application and interview process and training over the summer. We are also proud of Sokanita Nou who was given the Paul Noyd Award for her positivity and kindness. Other participants include Annabeth Briggs, Claire Nolan, Juliana Vasquez-Colindres, Nessa VanHorn, Teighler Malcolm-Fossitt, and Alia Dunphy.
